On your next visit to Rays Farm why not bring your walking boots, collect a map from the farm (or download it from the page - see below) and set off for a walk through history.
About 200 years ago the view from Rays Farm, across the lane and over the fields to the woodlands may have looked very different to that which you see today - the area was an industrial site.
You start the walk by turning left out of the farm gate and walk uphill to the outskirts of Chorley Village, where you turn right into the woods.
From there on you will be walking through woodlands, along the edges of fields and by fast flowing streams.
