School educational visits

     School visits to Rays Farm are growing ever more popular. Rays Farm is an ideal place to introduce children to a wide variety of farm animals and birds. Children can see the young goat kids having a drink of milk, rabbits digging their burrows on our lawn!!, the rabbits and guinea pigs each with their own particular type of food, owls of many different breeds, each highley visable. There are many more animals and birds to observe. Each paddock or pen has its own information panel giving details about the animal, diet, breeding etc. Our goat paddock is unique, children can stroll around, sit with or stroke our friendly goat herd.

     There is indoor and outdoor picnic seating all within a few paces of handwashing and toilet facilites.

     After lunch explore the woodcarving trail through our ancient woodlands, (allow 1 hour). Children can discover over 40 wood carvings, some nursery rhyme characters, others tree spirits and animals. There are information panels throughout the woods to aid teachers.
      Teachers are welcome to pre-visit us free of charge (please bring a school letter head). All schools and nurseries visiting the farm will also be given a Family Voucher, (for 2 adults & 3 children), which can be passed to the P.T.A organiser to be used as a prize in the schools fundraising events. 
     Children may have use of the free outdoor wooden play area (adjacent to picnic areas) under your supervision.

     At any time parts of the visit may be shortened. i.e. there are shortcuts in the paths around the farm and in the woodlands.
